How long have you been working in your chosen specialty?

Ten years

What specific benefits do apples offer in your field?

Apples are nutritious as well as palatable, accessible and inexpensive so they are good for everyone.

What is your favourite apple?

Granny Smith and Cripps Pink (sold as Pink Lady™)

What is your favourite apple recipe?

I like apple crumble with ice cream but simply cutting up an apple and eating it with my fingers is my favourite way to prepare and eat apples.

Where do you buy your apples?

The supermarket usually.

Do you take the idea of “being kept away” personally?

No not at all!

If you could give people just one piece of health advice, what would it be?

Trust your instincts and common sense and have a good doctor you really like and trust.

How important is good diet to health?

Extremely important. You are what you eat! The body needs the right nutrients to thrive and eating too much rubbish will make you feel like rubbish!

How many apples do you have in a week?

Around ten or more. I consider them a staple food. I aim to never run out of apples, milk, eggs or bread and so I shop accordingly.

What is this apples campaign going to cost you? A boat? The kids school fees? A few mortgage payments?

Who knows? But what a worthy cause!
